Licensed Childcare

Parkgate has licensed daycare for families requiring care for their children 6 months to 12 years of age (grade 7). Staff are trained, caring ECE professionals dedicated to the optimum development and well-being of your children.

School Age Care staff are trained, energetic and creative individuals with education and experience in fields such as special education needs, outdoor recreation and liberal arts. We service the following schools for the Kindercare and School Age Care programs: Dorothy Lynas, Sherwood Park, Cove Cliff, St. Pius X and Plymouth.

Summer Camps

Summer Daycamps (some of which are licensed with Community Care Facilities Licensing) are offered at Parkgate Community Centre and at the Seymour Youth Centre for children ages 3-12 years old.

Camp Caledonia

Our Camp Caledonia daycamp programs are broken down into five age groups to encourage and allow children to interact with their peers in a positive and age appropriate environment. Camp Caledonia Voyageurs is a French language camp where children will enrich their vocabulary and improve their French while doing fun activities similar to typical daycamps. Each of the full day daycamp's includes weekly out trips to exciting venues and events in the Lower Mainland. Many of the longer out trips allow for two or more camps to participate together. This way, siblings and friends in different camps can still share the same outdoor experiences. Our dedicated and caring staff are committed to giving your child his/her best summer daycamp experience ever! For the 2007 summer program we are providing the following camps:

Camp EXTREME - 11-12 Years Old (going into grades 6 & 7 in September, 2008)

This program is designed for older children that have already been through the centre's summer daycamps and want more adventure and outdoor activities. Leaders incorporate new and challenging activities into this full-day camp. The main goal of the camp is to challenge pre-teens in new and exciting environments. Through teamwork, encouragement and perseverance, camp leaders help increase the pre-teens skills and confidence in the outdoors.

Camp On My Own - 3-4 Years Old (born in 2004/2005)

Little campers will have fun singing, creating, playing and interacting with staff and others their own age. Our hands-on staff will establish a warm and welcoming atmosphere for these first timers as they experience a camp program all on their own. suitable for children entering their first or second year of preschool in September 2008 (born in 2004-2005). Register by the day or by the week. Limited drop-in spaces each day.

Before and After Camp - 5-12 Years Old (going into Kindergarten to grade 7 in September, 2008)

Before and After Camp is available for early drop-off and late pick-up. Before Camp runs from 7:30am to 9:00am and after camp runs 4:00pm - 6:00pm. Both programs provide activities and fun. Children must be pre-registered to attend these programs. Early registration is recommended.
