Community Development
Parkgate Community Services plays a vital role in community development in many different ways. Through community facilities or outreach services the Society is committed to:
- Building individual skills by identifying human resources and expertise within the community.
- Producing promotional material to raise public awareness of the importance of building community capacity in order to create healthier communities.
- Initiating community meetings to facilitate discussion on issues that arise.
- Running social action and support groups.
- Planning services which directly meet the community's specific needs.
- Participating in Inter-Agency meetings across the North Shore.
- Increasing partnerships with other community service providers.
