Internet Services

After almost 12 years of providing free internet access, Parkgate Community Centre is in the unenviable position of having to take down its community access site.  In 1999 when Parkgate Community Centre opened, we were the first civic building on the North Shore with free internet access.

Over the past year, our computers and network have been disabled several times as a result of individuals who have hacked into the system.  Because of this ongoing vandalism, we have been unable to consistently provide free internet service to the public through the Community Access site.  It is for these reasons that we have decided to disable the site entirely and take the next step and look into options of providing hot spots or WiFi to Community Centre users.

In the meantime, free access to computers and to WiFi is only a few steps away at the District of North Vancouver Parkgate Public Library.  The WiFi is free and all you need to access one of their 10 computers is a library card (which is also free).
