Youth Centre Leaders

Parkgate Community Services is seeking Youth Centre Leaders to assist the team in providing programs and services through the drop-in centres. The Youth Centre Leaders will make connections with youth, create a safe and inviting environment, and encourage participation in activities offered through the centre. The position will also support special events such as pre-teen and teen dances.

Qualifications
Candidates should have some university or college education in child and youth care or related field; and/or previous experience working with youth 11-18.

  • Current first aid/CPR

  • Successful completion of a criminal record check

  • Excellent Communication skills

  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with youth, co-workers and staff

Remuneration - $13.00/hour

Playgroup Co-Facilitators

Exciting opportunities available for Part-ime Playgroup Facilitators for Parkgate’s stimulating drop-in program. This program is for families and their children five and under.

 

Key Responsibilities

Provide a stimulating environment for caregivers, parents, and their children who are five and under. Promote support, networking, and involvement among parents and care providers in a healthy, safe, and positive environment. Raise awareness amongst parents of milestones in growth and development of young children. Develop active, quiet, individual and group activities for program participants.

 

Qualifications

Diploma in Early Childhood Education, Family Studies or related fields, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Remuneration - $16.00/hour plus 6% vacation.

Approximately 3.5 hours on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in the mornings for a total of approximately 7hours per week.
