Parkgate Pottery Studio
IMG_9533Parkgate Pottery Studio is a modern, bright, spacious studio with an outdoor workspace, where you can create at your own pace in a friendly and encouraging environment.

Parkgate has a range of Pottery Studio membership options, and also offers a number of pottery programs for all ages. Planning an event? Custom parties and private bookings at the Pottery Studio are available.

 

Pottery Memberships

There are three levels of pottery memberships: full-time annual, full-time quarterly, and part-time quarterly.

IMG_9539To become a member of the Pottery Studio, please attend an orientation with the Pottery Studio Manager. If you have had no previous pottery experience, we recommend that you take a beginner course first, and then make an appointment regarding a membership.  Contact Liz DeBeer, Pottery Studio Manager, at  604-983-6367 to arrange for an appointment.

Full-time Annual: $762 plus GST

Full-time Quarterly: $216.50 plus GST

Glazing and firing costs are included in membership fees. Clay must be purchased separately. Before registering, please book your orientation with the Pottery Studio Manager. Limited space is available.

Monday 11:30am – 3:00pm / 5:00pm – 9:50pm
Tuesday and Thursday 8:30am – 3:00pm
Wednesday 5:00 – 9:50pm
Friday 8:30am – 9:50pm
Saturday 12:00 – 6:00pm
Sunday 8:30am – 6:00pm

Part-time Quarterly: $118.50 plus GST

Available to adults currently enrolled in an intermediate or advanced pottery program. Access to the studio is limited to 10 hours maximum each week and can be chosen from the following times:

Monday 11:30am – 3:00pm / 6:00pm – 9:50pm
Wednesday 6:00 – 9:50pm
Thursday 11:00am – 3:00pm
Saturday 12:00 – 6:00pm

Pottery Programs

Pottery Parent Participation (3 – 4 yrs)
Spend time with your child and explore their hidden talents with clay. Clay included in fee.

Kids & Clay (4 – 6 yrs), (6 – 8 yrs), (8 – 12 yrs)
Learn glazing and hand-building techniques to create imaginative and functional pieces to decorate your home or to give away as gifts. All supplies included. (Liz D.)

Youth Pottery Club (12 – 16 yrs)
Gather the kids and explore the wonders of clay together in this new class designed to bring families together to create masterpieces with clay. Parents and their children will make a variety of projects over the course of the program.

Gather the kids and explore the wonders of clay together in this new class designed to bring families together to create masterpieces with clay. Parents and their children will make a variety of projects over the course of the program.

Adult Handbuilding and Wheelwork – Beginner
Whether you are just starting out or have pottery experience, this course will teach you the various methods of hand-building, wheel-throwing clay and glazing.

Adult Handbuilding and Wheelwork – Intermediate
For participants with wheelwork experience, this class takes a more in-depth approach to various methods of hand-building and wheel-throwing clay. Clay not included in fee.

Private Pottery Bookings

Experience the joy of creating with clay in this friendly and encouraging environment. Custom parties and private bookings are available at just $10 per person for a two-hour session (minimum 10 people) – all supplies are included! Everything from a girls’ night out or a a family gathering to school groups, staff groups, celebrations or anything else you can think of. Pottery Sales

IMG_4190Find that unique gift all year round! Pottery items are for sale in display cabinets in the main lobby and outside the Pottery Studio. Come and check out our display, and let the front desk staff know if there is a piece that you would like to purchase.

The Pottery Studio members sell their items periodically in the lobby and at each of our major community events held throughout the year. Please check out our events calendar for dates and details.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I register for a program?

Online: Register online with a Visa or Mastercard, and use your family Playcard account number and PIN to log into the site. These numbers can be found at the end of any receipt you have received from us. If you do not have this information, the Parkgate front desk staff will be happy to provide it to you.

By phone: to register by phone, you will need a credit card, and your family Playcard account number and PIN to register.

  • Call Customer Call Centre at 604-987-7529, Monday to Friday from 8:30am-6:30pm, to register by speaking with a customer service representative.
  • Call 604-983-6350 to register at Parkgate Community Centre at the front desk.

In-person: Visit the Parkgate Community Centre during office hours for in-person registration:

Monday to Friday               6:15am – 9:15pm
Saturday and Sunday        8:15am – 5:15pm

You may also register in-person at any North Vancouver Community recCentre facility.

What is the Refund Policy?

You’ll receive a full refund if you request to withdraw from a program or daycamp more than five days before the scheduled start date.

You’ll be refunded for the program fee less the charge for one class if you request to withdraw anytime between five days before the program starts and the start of the second class. PLEASE NOTE: No refunds or credits can be issued after the second class of a program starts. Fees for one-day programs and weekend workshops are non-refundable when withdrawn less than 5 day prior to start of class.
