Body Ball Instructions
- Your body ball should have come with a plug and an adapter. You will want to unfold and lay your ball out on the ground, allowing most of the folds to come out. The ball should be flat at this point and the hole should be open. With a body ball pump, insert the tip of the pump in the hole and start to inflate the ball. If you do not have a specially made pump, you may use a bike pump or a compressor to inflate your ball by attaching the adapter that came with the body ball. The adapter can be distinguished from the plug, because it is threaded on one end. The threaded end attaches to your bike pump or compressor, and the other end inserts inside the ball. You may now start filling your ball with air.
- You will want to fill the ball until it is firm. DO NOT OVER INFLATE THE BALL. Fill to 80% or so that you can dent the ball about 2-3" if you stick your finger in the ball. Let it sit for 24 hours as it will stretch, then fill it to 100%. According to the size of ball you purchased (i.e. 55cm), measure this distance up a wall. If the ball is filled correctly, the top of the ball should measure 55cm high. When sitting on the ball, if it is correct for your height, your knees should be 90-degrees.
- What can you do if the ball you purchase is bigger in diameter than the sitting guidelines? The answer is, do not inflate your ball as much. For example, if you purchase a 65-cm. ball and are only 5 ft. 2 in. tall, fit the ball using the 90-degree rule in sitting. If your ball is under-inflated, the ball will not be as firm, but you will continue to reap the benefits of the ball.
- If you are planning on using your ball as a chair (best for an office chair!), underinflate your ball slightly for more comfort. You may want to purchase a larger ball than recommended for your height.
