Fitness Centre Rules and Weight Room Etiquette
We strive to provide a safe, fun and educational atmosphere for your workout experience. This is to provide information about appropriate rules and regulations while conducting your fitness routine in our facilities.

Weight Room Rules
- To ensure a comfortable atmosphere for everyone, please be courteous and respectful of others.
- Visibly wear your membership pass at all times, or have a stamp on your hand for each visit.
- If you are a monthly or annual member, please scan your card at the front desk each visit before you exercise, or if the front desk is closed, sign-in on the provided sheet.
- Please pick up your towels, water bottles, newspapers, or magazines.
- Wipe down each piece of equipment for the next user.
- Return tubing bands, skipping ropes, body balls, and medicine balls to appropriate storage space.
- Wear proper attire (no "cutoff shorts", sandals or open-toed shoes etc.)
- No food or beverages (except water).
- No scents are good sense! Avoid wearing cologne or strong perfumes.
- The weight room is restricted to those 15 years of age and older (13 & 14 year olds must be approved by their physician and an H&L Consultant before attending a teen program--see front desk for details)
Training Etiquette
Make sure you sign up for all cardiovascular equipment:
- Write your name/initial on the board, time you are getting ON, & time you are getting OFF
- Use the clock in the weight room for all booking times
- Time limit for all cardio equipment is 30 minutes (including warm-up/cool-down)
- No pre-booking allowed. Sign up at next available time.
- Return and rack weights when finished.
- Do not drop the weights on the floor.
- Wipe off benches, mats and balls when finished.
- Allow others to "work in" or take turns.
- Swearing, grunting, and loud noises are distracting and offensive to others.
- Do not monopolize several pieces of equipment while others are waiting.
- Remove any attachments (handles, bars, ropes) from the cable pulley machines when you are finished.
- Report broken machines or other maintenance concerns to the Health & Lifestyle Consultant on duty.
