The Parkgate Child Care Waitlist is currently full. We are no longer accepting waitlist applications at this time.

If you have any questions regarding Parkgate Child Care & Family programs, please email: [email protected]

***********************************************************************

NEW: Waitlist applications will now only be valid for a one-year period until the end of each calendar year. Forms submitted in 2020 will expire on December 31, 2020. Therefore, if you wish to remain on the Parkgate Child Care Waitlist for the following year, you will be required to submit a new application form each January.

When a spot becomes available for your child, you will be contacted by email. Parents will be given 48 hours to notify us of their decision to either accept or decline the spot. If parents fail to contact us within the 48-hour period, the child’s name will be removed from the waitlist.

There is no waitlist application fee; however, there is a $75.00 non-refundable administration fee when you accept a space.

Our Licensed Child Care programs serve the following five elementary schools: Cove Cliff, St. Pius X, Dorothy Lynas, Sherwood Park and Seymour Heights.

 Frequently Asked Questions

How does the Parkgate Society Child Care Program Waitlist work?

Parkgate Society operates 104 licensed child care spaces for children ages 6 months to 12 years old.

When there are vacancies in our programs, priority for space will be determined as follows:

  1. Children currently enrolled in Parkgate Society’s Licensed Child Care Programs that are moving to the next age group.
  2. Children currently enrolled in a Parkgate Society Child Care program who wish to increase or decrease days.
  3. Siblings of children who are currently enrolled in a Parkgate Society Child Care Program.
  4. Waitlisted children who are eligible for the specific space available (based on age), in order of waitlist date.

Will I be able to see the child care program before I accept the space?

Yes, if you have been offered a space, you will have an opportunity to see the program before accepting the space. Once you have accepted the space, a $75.00 administration fee is due immediately. This is non-refundable.

How much notice will I be given when a space becomes available?

We try to provide a minimum of one-month notice. It is important for you to update us if your contact information changes.

When can I apply to put my child’s name on the waitlist?

At this time, the waitlist is full. When the waitlist is open and accepting applications, you may put your child’s name on the waitlist after your child is born.

How do I find out where I am on the waitlist?

We do not provide waitlist numbers and are unable to respond to requests related to where your child is on the waitlist. We can provide confirmation that your child is on the waitlist.

How long can I expect to wait to receive an offer of a child care space?

Given that there are many factors we consider when a space becomes available, it is difficult to provide an accurate prediction of how long a family might wait for a space or even if a space will be offered at all.

Because we cannot guarantee that a space will become available, we encourage families to continue exploring child care options. North Shore Community Resources can provide more information about child care in your community: www.nscr.bc.ca

What happens if I turn down a space when it is offered?

If you decline two space offers, your child’s name will be moved to the bottom of the waitlist. If you no longer require a child care space, please contact us so we can remove your name from the waitlist.
